Open Data Policy

The EITI Standard 2016 Requirement 7.1 (b) requires the multi-stakeholder group “to agree a clear policy on the access, release and re-use of EITI data.

This policy notes that access to EITI data adds value by increasing transparency and public awareness on natural resource revenue and the use of this revenue for sustainable, effective development projects. The policy also alludes to the benefit of open data to Government as it relates to forming policy prescriptions and management of the extractive sectors.
